Emmerdale fans left in tears as Charity forced to terminate pregnancy in heart-wrenching scenes
EMMERDALE fans were left in tears after Charity Dingle was forced to terminate her pregnancy in heart-wrenching scenes.
Charity (Emma Atkins) was only in the early stages of pregnancy, and was just getting her head around it when she was crippled with pain in tonight's episode.
Boyfriend Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) found her in time and rushed to hospital where she had a scan.
Charity was convinced she had lost the baby, but while the radiographer revealed the pregnancy was still live, she added quickly that it was "not a viable one".
The radiographer quickly explained Charity's pregnancy was ectopic.
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilised egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus and can be life-threatening.

Mackenzie struggled to get his head around it, and asked if they could listen to the heartbeat of the baby they were destined to lose.
The medics then helped Charity take care of the pregnancy, and once it was over, she had a touching moment with her partner.
Charity explained how she had finally felt excited about her fifth pregnancy, as she had someone to share it with for once.
She then apologised to Mackenzie and kissing her hand, he said he would support her.
But once they were back home and Charity had rested, a struggling Mackenzie wanted to talk about what had happened.
However, Charity said she didn't and tried to change the subject, leaving both of them struggling in silence.
Emmerdale viewers were devastated by the heartbreaking scenes, with one writing on Twitter: "Ectopic pregnancy, poor Charity and poor Mack, he was looking forward to becoming a dad…😭💔"
Another added: "Poor Charity"
A third tweeted: "This is so sad.. 😢"
