Remember Emmerdale chef Carlos Diaz? Actor Gary Turner is now a dishy silver fox
Since leaving the ITV soap, Gary went on to star in Hollyoaks: Let Loose and the film Run For Your Wife
HE sent the woman of Emmedale into a frenzy after arriving in the quaint village in March 2000.
Dishy chef Carlos Diaz – played by actor Gary Turner – attracted a host of admirers thanks to his floppy hair, dark brown eyes and boyish good looks.
Carlos was bowled over by Nicola Blackstock in 2001 and quickly decided to pop the question.
However, as with all soap romances, the path of true love didn’t run smoothly and he began an affair with Bernice Thomas, Nicola’s half-sister and wife of vicar Ashley Thomas.
Their on-off fling was going well until Bernice fell pregnant and was unable to confirm who the dad was.
A paternity test later revealed that Ashley was the father.
Racked with guilt, Carlos decided to come clean to Nicola about his infidelity on their wedding day.
She ended up attacking him with her bouquet, cancelling the ceremony and telling him to flee.
Carlos returned to the ITV soap in early 2004 – much to the shock of Nicola – but bowed out for good in May.
Since his exit, the 48-year-old Chester-born actor has gone on to star in Hollyoaks: Let Loose and The Courtroom.
He also had a cameo in the film Run For Your Wife which starred Danny Dyer, Sarah Harding and Denise Van Outen.
Gary, who dated Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati between 1999 to 2003, now looks completely different.
He is still incredibly handsome but is now rocking the silver fox look complete with a smart hairdo and a trendy beard.
One of his headshots sees him posed up in a sharp suit, while in another he rocks a classic leather jacket.
In recent years his IMDB page has been quiet, although it's fair to say the industry took a hit with the coronavirus pandemic.
Here's hoping we see Gary on screens again soon in all of his smouldering glory.
