FOOTY hero Tony Adams is swapping the pitch for the dancefloor, to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.
The Arsenal legend joins the impressive 2022 Strictly line-up.
Who is Tony Adams?
Born on October 10, 1966 in London, Tony Adams spent his entire footballing career – 19 years - playing for Arsenal, as well as for England.
He was known for his no-nonsense approach to defending — but not so much for his elegance.
In fact, he famously dropped Arsenal team-mate Steve Morrow after hoisting him up to celebrate his winning goal in the 1993 League Cup final — badly breaking his arm.
He went on to be a manager, looking after Wycombe and Portsmouth to name a couple.
Is Tony Adams married and does she have any children?
Tony is happily married to wife Poppy Teacher – a whisky heiress, seven years his junior.
He has five children, which includes three with Poppy – Atticus, Hector and Iris.

What has Tony Adams said about being on Strictly?
On August 10, 2022 Tony was revealed as the eleventh celebrity to be taking part in Strictly 2022.
He told the BBC: “To say I’m excited is an understatement - the lure of the sequins and the call of the salsa has me swapping my battered old football boots for a set of Strictly soft shoes.
"Am absolutely thrilled to be giving it my all on this year’s 20th anniversary of Strictly Come Dancing.

Tony joins the other announced stars competing on the show including Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, who were the first contestants confirmed for the series.
Since then, Richie Anderson, Kaye Adams, Jayde Adams, Ellie Simmonds and Tyler West have also been revealed to be taking part.
Matt Goss, Molly Rainford, Fleur East, and Ellie Taylor have also been revealed.
