CORONATION Street fans are in shock after Stu Carpenter’s explosive secret was revealed.
The formerly homeless veteran - who is played by actor Bill Fellows in the ITV soap - has been hiding a major secret from partner Yasmeen Nazir for months.
And in tonight’s episode it all came out.
Viewers know Stu found his daughter Bridget but was given short shrift after she accused him of hurting a girl.
And tonight his ex wife turned up demanding he stay away from their daughter.
Arguing over his daughter, his ex told him to leave her alone but he said he’d never hurt anyone and asked him to tell that to Charley Walter.
“Who’s Charley Walter?” Yasmeen asked.
“She’s the poor young girl he murdered,” Stu’s ex told a horrified Yasmeen.
“I didn’t do it, I swear,” he said as Yasmeen questioned him about what had happened.
And after everything she went through with Geoff, she wanted answered and went to ask his ex what the truth was.
She revealed how Stu had confessed to murder after having an affair with the waitress.
Viewers are in shock at Stu being a secret murderer.
One wrote: "I think Lucy is twisting the story. I cant get my head around Stu being a murderer."
A second said: "Don't believe Stu is a cold blooded murderer. It will have been some kind of accident or self defence."
Another added: "I wonder if Stu's ex has made up that Stu murdered someone so that he can keep away from Bridget?"
Actor Bill has revealed how Stu served 27 years in prison for murder - but insists he is innocent, despite confessing and will hatch a plan to prove it.
He added: “The first major thing is to try and get the people he loves and cares about to believe him; Yasmeen, Alya and Zeedan.
“Without giving the game away, there are loads of twists and turns in this storyline, it’s not just that Stu needs to prove his innocence…
“There are loads of elements to this story that come into play. This bombshell has blown up now.”
