Countdown and Gogglebox stars team up for quirky new game show – with a major twist
THE UK’s brainiest presenters – Countdown’s Susie Dent and Celebrity Gogglebox star Gyles Brandreth are joining forces for a unique show.
The pair are teaming up for a stage version of the award-winning podcast, Something Rhymes with Purple.
The brainy duo will bring their infectious love of words to the stage with all the trademark repartee and wordplay of the podcast.
The show will combine much-loved podcast segments including Susie’s Trio, Gyles' poetry, the bizarre origins of sayings and a lot of myth busting.
Each show will focus on a different theme and will be recorded for the podcast.
The show will have a residency at the Fortune Theatre in London from Sunday, September 25 through Sunday, February 19, 2023.

The theatre typically runs Tuesdays through Sundays.
Tickets for the 1 hour and 50 minute show will be available from £25, with a £3.80 transaction fee per ticket.
Audiences can also expect more of the Gogglebox star’s unique brand of poetry, as well as a deep dive into exposing myths about language.
Thrilled about the news, Gyles said: “Susie and I first met more than 25 years ago on Countdown. We love exploring the world of language together and we love meeting other people who love words.
"That’s why we’re so excited about Something Rhymes with Purple on Stage; it’s going to be a party for all our fellow language lovers!”
Describing the show and what fans can expect to see, a spokesperson for the Fortune Theatre said: "Uncover the hidden origins of language, understand how and why we use the words we use, enhance your vocabulary, and test your knowledge with two of the wittiest and finest wordsmiths."
Please note that the venue has COVID-19 guidelines that may need to be observed and could change at the time of these shows later in the year.

Gogglebox airs on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
