Struggling Bargain Hunt contestants have the last laugh after epic turnaround for VERY lucky reason

ONE team on Bargain Hunt had a convincing win after looking like they might go home as losers.

The dad and daughter duo managed to race home to a staggering win on the finish line thanks to a wooden dog.

The family team of Stephen and Sarah were the Reds and they went up against the Blue team of Angela and Pete from Coventry.

Shot pre-pandemic at the Gloucester Antiques Centre and the Museum of Gloucester, the team were given a budget to go antique-hunting.

Antiques expert and show host Charlie Ross kept an eye on proceedings with fellow experts, Kate Bliss and Charles Hanson who were tasked with finding the best bargains for their teams.

The teams were given £300 to find some bargain antiques with the red team setting out to find a 20th century storage item.

Stephen and Sarah needed to find 'an item with a face', and both teams had to find at least one item worth more than £75.

They managed to buy a silver mustard pot for £45, a Victorian leather bound trunk for £35, and a silver wine taster for £75.

The Red team got their hands on a mahogany Pembroke table for £25, a 1920s steamer trunk for £60, and a £170 topaz ring.

They made a loss of £4, even with Kate finding a last minute vintage thimble.

Stephen and Sarah had a loss of £1, but it looked like they were going to lose when the Red team made a huge profit from selling their antiques.

Expert Charles Hanson then found them a 19th century Bavarian dog, for just £45.

What surprised everyone was when auctioneer Tim Weeks told them the ceramic item was "great quality" that would "absolutely fly" at auction and could even sell for "three figures."

The Red team sold the dog for £280, which meant they made a profit of £284 and walked away with the win.

"It has been a fantastic experience coming here today. The highlight for me has been the building. It is quite amazing how enormous the building is which is not quite what you expect from the outside," host Charlie told Gloucester Times during filming.

"What is also fantastic is the history of the building which dates back to the fifteenth century. So much history and levels of history from the Tudor era to the present day.

"The red and blue teams have been very jolly. They have had very knowledgeable experts with Charles and Kate who are also very friendly and fun."`
