Michael Owen drops HUGE hint he doesn’t approve of Luca as he swerves Love Island airport pickup

THE Love Island finalists returned to the UK today after spending two months abroad on the hit ITV show, and despite Gemma Owen’s return, her dad Michael Owen was a no-show at the airport.

Gemma, 19, was greeted by her mum Louise and her siblings as she arrived at the airport, but there was no sign of Michael.

The airport swerve comes as another hint that the footballer pro isn’t a fan of Gemma’s man Luca Bish, 23.

Meanwhile Gemma looked emotional as she hugged her younger sibling moments after touching down on the runway.

The special moment was filmed by ITV - with the scenes likely to air on Love Island: The Reunion, which airs on Sunday night.

The other islanders were greeted by their family members too, with Tasha Ghouri’s dad breaking down in tears when he saw her.

Michael also swerved parents day in the villa, and instead Gemma’s mum went in with a friend.

This left fans on social media believing that Michael isn’t a fan of Luca Bish, with Luca noticeably disappointed when Michael didn’t make an appearance.

Gemma's mum, Louise Bonsall, 41 and friend Sarah jetted to Majorca to visit the dressage champ in the Love Island villa.

Gemma was clearly excited to see the pair and teared up as she put her hands over her mouth.

But when the camera cut to Luca he turned away in disgust and put his sunglasses back on.

Fans couldn't help but notice the profound disappointment on his face when he realised he would not be meeting the champion footballer.

"Lucas' face when he realised Michael Owen wasn’t coming in," one fan commented with a laughing emoji on Twitter.

Another added: "I said exactly the same, his face was a picture."

At the airport the smitten winners of this year's series - Ekin-Su and Davide - shared a kiss as they walked out to crowds.

The Islanders looked over the moon as they held hands and headed towards their loved ones.

Turkish beauty, Ekin-Su, 27 and the Italian stallion, also 27, have already been sharing loved up snaps from the plane online.

After getting their phones back, the lovebirds took to Instagram to share their first selfie together since leaving the villa.

The pair looked happier than ever as they flashed a big smile and cosied up together.
