LOVE Island fans are convinced they've 'worked out' real reason Luca broke down in tears on last night's episode.

Horse dresser Louise, 41, who is married to Michael Owen, made an appearance on the ITV2 show tonight when the Islanders finally got to reunite with their loved ones.

The fishmonger, 23, became emotional when both his parents Maria and Michael, and Gemma's mum and friend Sarah entered the villa.

Welling up Luca said to his parents: "Don't otherwise you'll make me cry."

However, fans think that Luca's tears were over Gemma's football legend dad Michael Owen not being there for the villa reunion.

One wrote: "Luca was secretly gutted that Michael Owen did turn up for meet the parents. #LoveIsland"

Another posted: "Luca rolling his eyes because Michael Owen didn't show up LOL. #LoveIsland"

Another shared a snap of a teary-eyed Luca and joked: "Luca seeing Gemma's mum walk in without Michael Owen. #LoveIsland"

"Luca is only crying cos he can’t see Gemma’s dad #LoveIsland," a fourth commented.

Someone else tweeted: "Yeah Luca is 100% disappointed about the fact Michael ain't there. Did u see the look he gave."

It comes after Louise sparked fury after she failed to give her daughter an important warning on Love Island.

Viewers were expecting Gemma's mum Louise to say a bit more about the fish monger after she previously spoke out against the "bullying" of Tasha Ghouri on the show.

The deaf model came under fire from a group of boys, most notably her daughter's boyfriend Luca.

While Louise didn't mention him by name she said in an Instagram post that the treatment of Tasha was "sad to see".

And fans took to Twitter to discuss why she didn't say anything.

One said: "Gemma’s mum didn’t say much about Luca…. She knows!"

Another added: "Really wish Gemma’s mum had done what indiyahs mum did."

A third chimed in: "Ngl kinda disappointed that Gemma’s mum didn’t go in there and say she doesn’t like Luca lol."

Meanwhile another pointed out: "Not people ranting cos what they were expecting from Gemma's mum didn't happen they can still have this discussion off camera & not on national TV for your own entertainment. I love that Luca's mum brought it up and told him they will discuss more when he comes out."

The mum-of-four's approval of Luca is critical to their relationship, as Gemma, 19, has explained in the past.

She told him on their first date that is her mum didn't like him then they had no future together.

Meanwhile, Luca's own family said sorry on his behalf for his behaviour during the show's explosive Movie Night.
