SEAL THE DEAL

I was on Love Island & can tell this year’s contestants have their eyes on £25k prize and fashion deals, says Wes Nelson

FORMER Love Island contestant Wes Nelson has revealed he "can tell" the contestants have already got their eyes on the prize.

The ITV2 dating show star - who rose to fame in 2018 - said he felt the Islanders were busy trying to "secure" big money brand deals for after their time in the villa, as well as the £50,000 prize.

Wes, 24, who took part in the fourth series of Love Island, said he felt some Islanders were settling down into their couples in the hopes of bagging the prize money next Monday.

He told Robert Bruce on on Thursday morning that he felt the "game-show mentality" was controlling "a couple" of the contestants' behaviour.

"It seems like there's certain people who are like, 'Oh, we're so happy, we're all good now, I never should've doubted you, we're the strongest in it'," Wes explained.

"People are getting into the 'game-show' mentality, I think coming back to it, like, 'Oh wait, actually, we're really close to the final now. I want to secure that £25k, I can smell the PLT deal, it's a week away'."

Wes went on to reveal that the main emotion he felt towards the end of his time in the villa was that he was "itching to get out".

"It gets boring eventually," he said of the show. "I was sort of camping out on the day beds and getting told to get up and do stuff."

It comes after fans spotted a after their exit from the villa.

Eagle-eyed followers of Gemma Owen and Indiyah Polack have noticed their Instagram follower count go up by one very important prospective boss this week.

The Islanders are frequently snapped up by different brands following their exits from the ITV2 dating show - and this year's contestants look to be no different already.

Taking to Reddit, many viewers speculated that Gemma, 19, and Inidyah, 23, could be first in line for a million-pound deal.

They noted how PrettyLittleThing founder and CEO Umar Kamani has followed both of the contestants on Instagram this week.

The fashion retailer already works with former Love Island contestant , who was made their creative director last year.

"He followed Indiyah earlier on today, and recently followed Gemma," another chimed in alongside screenshots of his following list.

"I'm surprised they didn't follow Ekin-Su," a third chimed in on the debate, while a fourth concluded: "Gemma and Indiyah suit the bran perfectly. Happy for them."

Earlier this week, we revealed how the ITV2 dating show is set to produce at least two big winners this year, with Gemma and Ekin-Su, 27, both in the running to become millionaires.

The pair are probably not short of a quid or two already - Gemma's dad is multi-millionaire footballer Michael Owen and Ekin was a soap star.
