Teen Mom Mackenzie McKee breaks silence on split from husband Josh & admits she ‘fought hard’

TEEN MOM Mackenzie McKee has broken her silence on her split from husband Josh, confirming that “it’s over” & admitting she “fought hard.”

She had hinted they were divorcing before Tuesday’s official statement.

Mackenzie, 27, posted the message to her alongside two photos with her former man.

One of them on a beach, another a couples’ selfie – she wrote, “With all the messages I’m receiving and articles coming out, I wanted you guys to hear what’s going on from me alone.

“Sometimes things work and sometimes, no matter how hard you fight, it just doesn’t work out.

“I am breaking my silence about Josh and I being done.”

The Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom OG alum continued on the split, “I will always respect him as the father of my children but it’s time for me to find my happy.”

She then asked her followers to go to her bio for “my full statement.” with a broken heart emoji.

There she linked to a news story that confirmed the first definitive words from her on Tuesday.

The outlet had written, “After ups and downs in her relationship with Josh, she’s exclusively confirming that her marriage is over.”

MACKENZIE’S FULL STATEMENT

“Josh and I are both still young with an entire life ahead of us,” the former cheerleader added to the outlet on their 12 years together and nine of marriage.

“And I wish nothing but peace and happiness for him and his future. Everyone has their own story, and this is mine.”

She told them she’s “stepping into an entire new life and new me” and did not elaborate on the reasoning but said she walked away.

“Us women do not leave until we are ready, until we can wake up, notice the coffee don’t smell right and something is off. That was my marriage,” she shared.

“But my marriage is all I’ve ever known since I was a young teenager.

“I wasn’t sad, I wasn’t sad about anything, I wasn’t angry, I wasn’t depressed. I gained my power back as a female who finally knows her self-worth.

“And I was finally so exhausted that I was done, and anything that has hurt me these past five years was gone. I no longer care.”

FANS FLOOD HER INSTAGRAM

Mackenzie had used social media platforms to all but announce her separation this past week, but fans were still floored it’s happening.

“Keep your head high,” Lindsie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best wrote under Mackenzie’s Instagram announcement which linked to the longer statement.

“I’m happy you chose yourself. so important,” commented another.

“I’m glad you’re moving on! You’re gonna be so happy when you find someone who deserves you!” wrote a third.

The fired Teen Mom 2 star shares kids Gannon, 10; Jaxie, eight; and Broncs, five, with her husband Josh.

SIGNS OF THEIR SPLIT

Josh – whom who started dating Mackenzie they were both in high school and married in August 2013 – took to Instagram to flex his muscles in a shirtless mirror selfie over the weekend.

He captioned his post: “The pain is worth the growth!”

Along with the shirtless photo, fans noticed Josh was not wearing his wedding band.

Fans were also convinced earlier they had split from her recent Twitter post.

She wrote the same weekend: “The dating world is wack guys… these men out here playin’. I’ve been out of this game for wayyy too long.”

Dozens went on to ask: “Are you and Josh divorced?”

Another fan replied: “Ahh… I’ve seen your TikTok and now it makes sense.”

The same day on TikTok and additionally before the statement, Mackenzie posted a duet video in which a group of ladies were reacting to a trending clip.

She wrote over the screen: “I finally walked away.”

And last month on Instagram, the mother-of-three also  of herself and her kids relaxing in an Orlando area pool.

“Not a care in the world,” she captioned the batch of pics which included her in a bikini and agreed when a commenter replied Josh was probably “with another girl somewhere.”

MARRIAGE PROBLEMS

Fans have followed Mackenzie’s marriage problems involving Josh “cheating” in their marriage over the years.

The couple separated in 2019 – she admits she also cheated and carried on an affair for six months.

The TV star and her husband then reconciled and bought a $525K house together.

She also defended his infidelity during an April Instagram Q&A.

Despite being with MTV for all of the drama, the network did not invite Mackenzie to film on their most recent reboot Family Reunion.

The Body By Mac owner revealed to The Sun that she hasn’t been asked to film for the next season of Teen Mom either.
