JAIL IN THE COFFIN

A Place in The Sun fans rip into ‘prison block’ home in ‘Spanish wasteland’ – but would you live there?

A PLACE in the Sun fans have ripped into presenter Jasmine Harman for showing a property in front a “wasteland”.

Guests Jo and Graham, from Crewe, are looking to spend a maximum budget of £85,000 on a two-bed holiday home in the Costa Cálida region of Spain.

They love the low living cost and accessibility of the area and are hoping to rent out the property for part of the year.

“We are looking at a minimum of two bedrooms, either a large terrace or a garden or a solarium,” Jo tells Jasmine of their wish list.

“It has to have a communal pool, close to amenities, shops, bars or restaurants.”

Jasmine took the couple to the first property at San Pedro del Pinatar, just a 20-minute walk from the famous salt lake Las Salinas.

But the guests were not too keen on the exterior as Jo said: “The outside doesn’t blow me away.”

Graham added: “You can see the car park behind, or wasteland…not quite so sure on that.”

Jasmine quickly explained that it is one of the few compromises for getting a lower-budget property in the area.

The ground-floor apartment also came with access to a communal pool that’s shared with 130 residents in the building, as well as a rooftop solarium with a communal outside kitchen.

When Jo and Graham took a closer look from inside the apartment, they said: “The balcony is facing the right direction but the view isn’t what I’d like to be seeing, sitting here drinking your gin and tonic.”

Fans agreed with Jo and Graham that the location was not ideal at all.

One said: “A concrete nightmare in a deserted wasteland. Lovely!”

“Looks like a prison block…with people from 130 properties peeing in the pool,” a second commented and a third wrote: “Think I’d rather stay in a hotel.”

Although Jo and Graham thought the view of the salt lakes from the rooftop were “stunning”, it’s not a contender for them and they asked Jasmine to show them a property with a bigger space.
