Coronation Street fans spot Stu and Frank’s ‘hidden link’ – and it could send shockwaves through their families

VIEWERS will find out more about Stu Carpenter's past in upcoming trips to Weatherfield.

However, some Coronation Street fans think they've unearthed a secret connection between him and Frank Bardsley.

Stu Carpenter will not be able to escape the truth as spoilers have confirmed he is hiding a deep, dark secret from everyone around him.

As it turns out, the former homeless man has an estranged daughter named Bridget along with a former wife called Lucy.

But Corrie viewers are convinced he may also be connected to Sean Tully's boyfriend, Frank Bardsley portrayed by Simon O'Brien.

The character made his first appearance at the end of May and his bullying was exposed to both Sean and his son Dylan in recent scenes of the ITV soap.

As both Frank and Stu are clearly used to keeping secrets, fans have speculated there could be a twist and they're ready to learn that the characters share a dark past.

"I think Stu looks more closely related to Frank, however that wouldn't make sense, I'm sure Frank and Sean have been to Speed Daal?", one viewer wrote on social media.

"Anyway I won't be losing any sleep over it just thought I'd chuck that theory in the ring!", they added.

Another responded: "I think Stu and Frank look alike!" as a third echoed: "Frank looks and sounds just like Stu, once you see it you won’t be able to unsee it."

Fans have previously theorised Stu could have a link to late villain Charlie Stubbs who was murdered by his former girlfriend Tracy Barlow.

They believed this would explain why the Speed Daal chef seems to have it in for the florist.
