Why is Sunny Hostin not on The View today?
BELOVED television host Sunny Hostin has been a panelist on ABC's morning talk show The View since 2016.
She is often seen at the 11am timeslot, which is why fans became concerned when she was absent on July 27, 2023.
Why is Sunny Hostin not on The View today?
On Thursday, July 27, Sunny was replaced on The View by The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay.
Rachel sat beside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, causing many to wonder what happened to Sunny.
Whoppi addressed Sunny's absence during Rachel's introduction but did not provide fans with a reason.
"So, Sunny's out today. Rachel Lindsay is here. She's an author, attorney, and media personality, and all-around really great gal," she said.
At this time, it is not known why Sunny is out or when she will return.
Has Sunny Hostin been absent from The View before?
While some fans might be concerned about Sunny's absence, others know that this isnt the first time she's gone MIA.
Back on July 22, 2022, she also "had the day off" from co-hosting duties.
That same month, she also took an entire week off for a trip to the Bahamas.

Additionally, Sunny was absent from the show in September 2021 after testing positive for Covid-19, the same disease that claimed the lives of both of her in-laws.
“Although I've chosen a very public career, as most of you know, those of you that know my husband, Manny, know that he is intensely private," Sunny said at the time.
"But after speaking with him, he felt that from a public health standpoint that it was very important for me to share that we are deeply saddened that Manny lost both of his parents over the holidays.
"He lost his father on December 28 [2022] and he lost his mother on New Year’s Day, both to Covid," she said.
Is Sunny Hostin a lawyer?
Before her stint on The View, Sunny worked as a trial attorney for the Justice Department.
She also spent time as a federal prosecutor.
Sunny obtained her law degree from Norte Dame in 1994 and has since gone on to serve as ABC's Senior Legal Correspondent and Analyst.
