Emmerdale fans call out easy-to-miss blunder after Amelia’s nightmare accident with baby Thomas

OBSESSING over her body image has led Amelia Spencer to put her life and baby Thomas' well-being in jeopardy.

However, after falling with the baby in her arms, Emmerdale viewers spotted a huge difference in his appearance.

Growing up in the Dales hasn't been easy for the teen played by Daisy Campbell and social media has only made her day-to-day all the more harrowing.

Concerned about her physical appearance, Amelia decided to put her trust in a weight gain syrup she bought online - without even looking into its components.

She paid the price of her negligence during last night's episode of the Yorkshire-based drama as her vision began to blur while she was babysitting at Home Farm.

Amelia fell while holding little Thomas Tate in her arms and the baby was left lying on the floor for a few minutes before she eventually came to.

But fans were more flabbergasted by the clear difference in the child's appearance due to the different actors who portray him.

Taking to Twitter, some viewers shared their thoughts about the blunder.

"Blimey, the baby changed quick. One is bigger than the other", one of them penned.

Since his first appearance in the village in October, 2021, Thomas has been known to be portrayed by child actor Bertie Brotherton.

But due to the clear severity of Amelia's fall - which concerned quite a few soap fans - one viewer decided to clear things up.

"Please note that Daisy Arwen Campbell was holding a doll when Amelia collapsed. No babies were harmed in the making of Emmerdale."

Another fan penned: "Ouch, Amelia! Surprised if viewers don’t complain about this scene, her dropping the baby like that. Looked a little too severe."

Thankfully, Harriet Finch walked in soon after Amelia regained consciousness and Thomas was brought into hospital.

The baby went through a precautionary CT scan as Amelia stated he fell from his high chair.

While in the hospital, the teen deflected all blame, not wanting anybody to know about her weight loss issues.

But her secret came to light after the syrup's side effects obviously took a toll on her physical health.

Thomas' family was fuming and the 15-year-old had to undergo some tests herself once her consumption of the syrup was revealed.

Frustrated, Amelia told the health professionals she would "be fine" as she had stopped taking the syrup - but doctors were still concerned.

They soon requested her father Dan (played by Liam Fox) be in the room with her as they told Amelia they had detected something in her urine.

Doctors then dropped a bombshell by telling Amelia she was pregnant - how will this pan out?
