Coronation Street fans are predicting a sinister DNA twist for the former homeless man, suspecting he could be Charlie Stubbs' dad.

What is Stu Carpenter hiding?
Since his first arrival in Weatherfield, the former Navy officer, portrayed by Bill Fellows, has remained extremely secretive about his past.
But upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based soap will show him reuniting with his estranged daughter Bridget and meeting his unknown granddaughter.
However, not much else has been revealed about the fan favourite, leading viewers to expect the unexpected.

In recent episodes, Tracy Barlow's (Kate Ford) entitled behaviour has clearly annoyed Stu, despite his friendship with her stepfather Ken.
Stu decided to put her in her place amid a recent plot which included a wine tasting session.
This has led fans to believe he has it in for the florist - and that he could also be the father of her late former boyfriend Charlie Stubbs.
Charlie was portrayed by actor Bill Ward and was a well-known villain in the cobbles for four years.

He not only attempted to drown a young David Platt but also had an affair with Maria Connor, had a huge feud with Peter Barlow and continuously cheated on his then-girlfriend Tracy.
Eventually, Tracy had enough of his antics and bludgeoned him to death in January, 2007.
She then staged the crime to make it look like she had struck him in self-defence and feigned abuse - but the truth eventually caught up with her.
Tracy was sent to prison for Charlie's murder but she was released in December, 2010, on a technicality.

A fan took to Twitter to share the theory Stu could be Charlie's father or, at the very least, a close relative.
"Okay so hear me out there’s stuff going to be revealed about Stu and I’m sure he’s going to be Charlie Stubbs’ relative… he seems to have it in for Tracy even after they kind of made friends…"
The viewer added: "Just think it could be interesting if he’s related in some way or has a connection to someone already on the street?"
A second fan echoed: "It seems Stu has it in for the Barlows. Is he Charlie Stubbs's father or something?" while a third viewer chimed in: "Is Stu Charlie Stubbs's father? Seems like he has it in for Tracy Luv."
