Love Island fans in tears after boy’s insult leaves Ekin-Su feeling ‘body shamed’

LOVE Island fans were left in floods of tears after the boy’s insult left Ekin-Su Culculoglu feeling insecure about her body.

Sunday night’s instalment of the ITV2 dating show left viewers feeling sad for the actress, 27, after she watched Davide Sanclimenti, 27, call her a “heavyweight” during Movie Night.

The Islanders gathered outside in the garden to watch footage from their time in the villa.

After answering a question correctly, the girls decided to watch one film that was called The Italian Stallion Job.

One clip saw Davide talking about her in the bedroom.

He said: “She is the thickest person I’ve met. I need to get rid of this heavyweight.”

The Turkish beauty thought his “heavyweight” comment was him calling her fat.

Ekin-Su turned to the girls and asked: “What does heavyweight mean? Would you take that as in you’re fat.”

She then asked Davide what he meant and Luca Bish, 23, and Andrew Le Page, 27, started laughing at her question.

Many viewers took to Twitter to share their upset over the situation.

One said: “No because the little moment when Ekin thought davide was calling her fat with the heavyweight comment broke my heart like that clearly struck an insecurity in her and the boys are laughing and provoking her.”

A second said: “woke up thinking about how about ekin asked what davide meant by heavyweight and the boys just laughed at her.”

“the way all the boys laughed at ekin-su when she asked davide if he was calling her fat by saying she was ‘heavyweight’ made me want to punch them all, ekin-su and gemma for the win,” a third chimed in.

A fourth added: “Catching up on LI, I feel genuinely upset that Ekin thought Davide was calling her fat when he said ‘heavyweight’ like that’s where her brain went first.”

“Davide calling Ekin-su a heavyweight when he usually lifts her in the gym so she thinks he’s calling her f@t is breaking my heart,” a fifth said.

Another clip saw Davide telling Jay Younger, 28, that he could get Ekin-Su “like this” as he clicked his fingers.

Movie Night also showed what Davide got up to with the Casa Amor bombshells.

The hunk was seen snogging Mollie Salmon, 23, in bed, as well as locking lips with Coco Lodge, 27, in the garden.

The fallout to their row continues tonight.

Ekin-Su was seen contemplating whether to continue on with the partnership in a first look clip last night.

“I’m very confused last night, she didn’t say a word,” Davide could be heard telling the boys in a look at tonight’s drama.

“She [didn’t try to talk to me], not last night,” he added. “She knows that when I don’t want to speak that it’s better not to.”

Meanwhile, Ekin-Su fumed: “I don’t feel any different this morning, I thought I’d sleep on it, and I woke up feeling, ‘You know what, f**k you’.

“Why should I go up to him like a little puppy when nobody has been questioning what he’s done in Casa. I’m done and I mean that.”
