MARYLAND is a hard-hitting BBC Two drama which tackles the heartbreaking subject of violence against women.

Actresses Hayley Squires and Zawe Ashton lead the cast as two women with the same name who have both been the victim of a sexual assault.

Maryland by Lucy Kirkwood grapples with the violence women are forced to reckon with in their everyday lives.

The drama focuses on two women called Mary who meet at a police station in the aftermath of their respective sexual assaults.
