Horrified EastEnders star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha hits back at cruel troll who body shamed her over bikini pic
EASTENDERS star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha has hit back at a cruel troll who body shamed her as she posed in a bikini.
The actress, best known for playing Ash Panesar on the BBC soap, had been jokingly comparing herself to her pregnant sister as they holidayed in Dubai - but found herself the victim of vile abuse.
Calling out the troll, Gurlaine showed the post in which the unnamed Instagram user told her: “Sort out your t*** and stretch marks. You’ve not even had a child and look at the state of your body.”
In a lengthy post, the disappointed star admitted she does have body insecurities, but fortunately didn’t take the comments to heart.
She wrote: “Yesterday I uploaded a video to my stories in which i messed about with my food bloat, jokingly comparing myself to my pregnant sister (see slide 2). as a result I got a direct message from someone I don’t know (see slide 3) body shaming me.
“Thankfully, I am confident in my own skin. Of course I have insecurities with certain parts of my body like everyone else, but nothing too extreme.

“However, for some people it’s not as simple as that. Some really struggle with body image and confidence.
"They aren’t able to feel comfortable within themselves each day, and sadly it doesn’t stop there.
"These struggles can lead to poor health and diet, depression, self doubt, self harm and mental health issues.
Guarliane warned: “What if someone who was struggling received a message like that? What if they weren’t able to shrug it off like I was able to?”

She added: “To the person who sent me the message - I haven’t revealed your name. I don’t want people to send you horrible messages in return.
"I believe in kindness not retaliation. I really hope that the message you sent me is the last, and you’re able to change your ways going forwards.”
The star concluded by reminding her followers to “be kind”.
