I’m can’t wait to be a grandma and I’m so happy to be alive after years of drug addiction, says Danniella Westbrook

DANNIELLA Westbrook appeared on This Morning today four years after her cancelled interview over concerns for her wellbeing.
Danniella, 48, has been battling drug addiction for three decades and first tried cocaine aged 14.
Today the former EastEnders star – who has played Sam Mitchell on-and-off since 1990 – looked glamorous in a colourful mini dress with her glossy hair in a bouncy blow dry, and with glowing make-up.
She told show hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond she has followed a 12 step recovering programme and found a therapist who has changed her life and helped her address issues in her past.
The mum of two revealed she's now looking forward to what the future holds.
She said: "I'm happy to be alive after everything I put myself through.
"I'm looking forwad to being a nanny, I'm just so happy with this chapter that I'm in.
"And I think I just needed to get there myself, but it was just learning to like me a little bit."
Alison asked her: "And how have you done that?"
"I'm working through lots of stuff still, but putting the drugs down was hard, but keeping the ego down too," she said.
"It's a really hard balance but for me. I found a fantastic therapist, she said you need to deal with this and this and this, and own your crap and I said 'no'.
"She said 'you need to,' and Idid a lot of inner child work, spiritual therapy.
"For me at 8 and 9 years old, coming into the studio here, into this building, is hard for me because of growing up here in the industry.
"But I worked on that stuff and it's behind me.
"I go to loads of meeting, I have a sponsor and the 12 step process. I check in every day."
In 2018 the star tweeted her frustration when she was booked to go on This Morning but they apparently pulled the interview.
She shared a screenshot on Twitter of what appeared to be part of an email from a show producer.
In the now-deleted tweet, Danniella wrote: "So @ITV @thismorning ask me on the show to talk about my health and what I’ve been through this last year then pull it! Trying to make me look bad!
"Using @loosewomen as an excuse I was still miscarrying when I didn’t do loose women that day! It’s a joke the way they’ve used me."
