Gemma ordered Jacques to ‘sit’ in Love Island showdown as fuming lad threatened to lose control before quitting

LOVE Island's Gemma Owen tried to stop her ex Jacques O'Neill as he went on a furious rampage before quitting.

Michael Owen's daughter, 19, might have started the drama but she worked swiftly to try and halt it.

Twigging before anyone else that he was about to kick off she ordered him to stay in his seat.

Gemma told him: "Woah, no, no, no, no, no. No, Jacques, sit down."

However, it was too late to stop the drama, which culminated with Jacques' dramatic departure from the villa being revealed this afternoon.

It came as a preview clip showed new arrival Adam Collard, 26, making a move on Paige Thorne, who is coupled with Jacques.

He tells her: "I know you're in a tricky situation but I would really like to get to know you."

Jacques, watching nearby asked his fellow Love Island boys: "How do you think Paige is going to play it?

"I think she's going to play it to a certain point when I get stressed. She's not actually interested. Let the games begin."

Another preview clip showed the moments Jacques flew off the handle over new arrival Adam.

Hearing remarks the newcomer had made about other lads, Jacques said: "I hope he said stuff about me because we'll have a bit of biff then."

Gemma told him without hesitation: "Oh he was proper slagging you off."

Immediately riled, Jacques replied: "What do you mean? What's he saying?"

Someone then threw the word "immature" into the mix - with Jaques rising to his feet in anger.

He then marched over to Paige, saying: "If a boy's going to chat s*** behind my back I don't f***ing have it."
