Love Island’s Gemma Owen slammed for her remark to Jacques before he quit the show

LOVE Island fans say Gemma Owen lit the spark that caused her ex Jacques O’Neill’s furious rage at Adam Collard.

ITV revealed today that the rugby ace had quit the show in the wake of the resulting bust-up.

Hearing remarks the newcomer had made about other lads, Jacques said: “I hope he said stuff about me because we’ll have a bit of biff then.”

Gemma, 19, told him without hesitation: “Oh he was proper slagging you off.”

Immediately riled, Jacques replied: “What do you mean? What’s he saying?”

Someone then threw the word “immature” into the mix – with Jaques rising to his feet in anger.

He added: “Do I go now? What else?”

Gemma, realising what was about to play out, added: “Woah, no no no no.”

But it was too late with Jacques later seen raging at Paige, saying: “If a boy’s going to chat s*** behind my back I don’t f***ing have it.”

Some fans pinned the drama on his ex, with one writing: “Honestly I love Gemma but why would she do this when Paige literally told the girls not to say anything to Jacques.”

Another tweeted: “Gemma is such a snake for saying that to Jacques at the end, Paige literally said don’t repeat this or there will be world war 3? Why would she stir the pot?”

A third insisted: “Funny thing is that Gemma riled Jacques up about Adam. Sneaky.”

Jacques has walked off the hit show just a day after getting 

A spokesperson for the show announced today: “Jacques has made the decision to leave the villa.

“He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques.”

Jacques broke down in tears earlier this week after admitting he regretted ‘cheating’ on Paige with Cheyanne Kerr, 23, during Casa Amor.

Love Island returns to ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
