blog to share the exciting announcement.
The former reality star posted an adorable photo of the newborn lying against her chest in hospital.
She captioned it: "Freddy” Frederick Michael Dillard is here! He was born 7/7/2022 at 5:16pm weighing 7lbs. 6oz. and is 20 inches long.
"Frederick means “Peaceful Ruler” and Michael means “Gift from God.”
Jill - who also shares sons Israel, seven, and Samuel, four, with Derick - revealed how Frederick's name is a sweet tribute to Derick and his late dad.
"The name Frederick also holds special meaning for us since it’s Derick’s name with “Fre” added to the front, to make 'Fre-derick,'" she explained.
"Similarly, Derick’s name is a variation of his late dad’s name, Rick, that his parents created by adding 'de' to the front of Rick to spell, 'de'-'rick,' literally meaning son 'of' (de) Rick.
"We were excited to settle on the name Frederick and incorporate both Derick’s and his dad’s name, by just adding 'Fre' to the beginning of Derick’s name."
The TLC star added: "Frederick was set to arrive later in July, but he decided he wanted to come a little early (the day before big brother Samuel’s birthday!), so we had our planned C-section a bit before originally planned.
"Both Jill and Frederick are healthy and are enjoying bonding while we look forward to bringing him home from the hospital soon!"
Fans were excited as well for the former reality star as they took to the comments section to react, with many praising the tight-knit family.
BABY SHOWER
Back in June, Jill had a lavish baby shower thrown for her at her cousin Amy's Arkansas home.
Jill shared a slew of photos from the day on Facebook, showing off the food, decorations, and her gifts.
However, it seemed like her parents Jim Bob and Michelle were not at the event - and neither were some of the sisters she's closest to including Jana, Joy-Anna, Jessa, and Jinger.
Jill wore a floral print top and white tiered skirt to the shower.
The house was decorated in a green, white, and gold color scene, with huge gold balloons spelling out "OH BABY" in the kitchen and an arch of green, white and pale pink balloons in the living room.
Jill looked emotional as she sat next to Amy, 35, and opened her huge haul of presents, which featured piles of clothes for her then-unborn son.
MIRACLE BABY
The ex TV personality announced back in February that she was expecting a third son - four months after suffering a miscarriage with their daughter River.
"Ever since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God’s will, he would bless us with another baby," Jill and Derick previously wrote on their .
"We are excited to announce that God has answered our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022!"
Jill previously touched on her miscarriage and said: “... Our baby doesn’t get to live here with us on earth, but is forever with the source of the river of life, in the presence of the Lord!"
REBEL JILL
Meanwhile, Jill continues to rebel against her strict family as she was previously spotted defying the rules by baring her legs in mini shorts.
While wearing black shorts, the star- who recently moved into her new Arkansas home- showed off her bare longs and teased a bit of her baby bump at the time.
Parents Jim Bob, 56, and Michelle, 55, have mostly stuck to their conservative rules for their Christian lifestyle.
The Duggar family has observed a strict dress code that only permits women to dress modestly and wear skirts or dresses.
One of these inflexible rules included not allowing women to show their legs or dress in a revealing manner.
The Duggar children have also been homeschooled and grew up with strict access to entertainment and television.
