Love Island’s Gemma Owen makes major dig at her ‘best friend’ as Adam Collard sparks turmoil in the villa

LOVE Island’s Gemma Owen tonight made a major dig at her so-called “best friend”, as Adam Collard sparked turmoil in the villa.

The 19-year-old dressage champ was quick to make a snide comment about Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 27, after she offered to give Adam a tour of the villa.

As the Turkish actress lead the Newcastle hunk off round the complex, Gemma quipped that Ekin-Su always needs to be the new boy’s “number one girl”.

The comment shocked viewers at home, as it had previously looked like the two women had grown close over the the last few weeks.

But speaking to the other girls she criticised her so-called pal for always being the first to jump on any new guy who arrives.

This didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with one saying: “I thought Ekin and Gem were pals?”

While another commented: “Gemma threw Ekin under the bus then, didn’t she!”

Adam made quite an immediate impact in the villa tonight, making moves on Gemma and Paige Thorne.

The Welsh paramedic even hinted she might be interested, suggesting she could get revenge on Jacques O’Neill for kissing another girl at the show’s Casa Amor stage.

But in a sneak peek to tomorrow night, it looks like Adam’s interest in Paige is going to cause quite the stir in the villa.

Fans were shown a short clip of the next episode with Jacques kicking off about Adam, and shouting: “Who the f***’s he?

“Just another geezer who’s been on the show? He’s f***ing nothing mate.”

It came as Gemma told her ex: “Oh he was proper slagging you off” causing Jacques to jump to his feet.

Meanwhile, some viewers also pointed out there was a good reason Gemma might not have recognised Adam quite as quickly as the others when he entered the villa.

As one viewer put it: “Gemma was 15 when adam collard was on love island.”

Another joked: “Gemma does not have a clue who Adam Collard is. She had to go to bed at 9pm when Season 4 was on.”

A third tweeted: “The last time Adam Collard was in the villa Gemma was 15.”

Gemma, who is now, 19, responded in a matter-of-fact way when the former Love Island star came in.

The girls whooped: “He looks like Adam Collard” but she replied simply: “That’s because it is.”

The Newcastle personal trainer appeared on the 2018 series – but many were shocked that he’s still relatively young.

Many reckoned he should now be in his 40s by now given how much time has has passed since he was last on the show.

However, he is not even the oldest person in the Love Island villa this year – aged just 26.
