DAVID Hide is grieving the loss of his son Ollie but suffers the consequences of teen's actions next week.
The Casualty character will be caught out in a horrific explosion and time will be running out for paramedic Jan Jenning.
Casualty is back for a double bill on Saturday (July 16) after BBC One viewers had to do without their dose of the medical drama.
This week, there's a lot at stake for nurse David Hide (portrayed by Jason Durr) as he continues to deal with the aftermath of his late son's decisions.
Being the father of school shooter Ollie has left him vulnerable and made him the target of a lot of hate.
David's turmoil is due to come to a head this week as he goes above and beyond to avoid other residents while carrying an unopened evidence box into his new flat.

He later receives a threatening phone call, which triggers his paranoia - and an explosion is heard tearing through the block.
Despite being shaken, David takes matters into his own hands and saves several injured residents with the help of fellow resident Callum.
Paramedics then take over and a grateful Callum promises David that the people he has saved will always be on his side.
Unfortunately, not everything is as it seems.

Jan Jenning (played by Di Botcher) informs David the gas explosion could have been caused by someone tampering with the gas, prompting him to believe the explosion was aimed at him.
In a panic, David collects his belongings, which include the unopened evidence box.
Meanwhile, Callum follows Lyra's dog into the building and collapses in pain.
David and Jan follow him in and a part of the unstable building crashes on them, trapping them as they struggle to stabilise Callum.
Iain Dean and the fire emergence service team up to get safe access and save them but David is growing increasingly worried for Callum and performs an emergency tracheotomy, saving his leg with Jan's help.
This leads the pair to share a conversation during which David confides his feelings of guilt over Ollie's behaviour.
Jan helps him realise he is not the one to blame for his son's actions.
Iain is then able to rush Jan to the ED but the paramedic loses consciousness and her life is immediately on the line.
As Ethan fights to stop the bleeding, Callum tries to reassure David by telling him the explosion wasn't his fault.
