Blackbird stars Taron Egerton who rose to fame playing Eggsy in the Kingsman franchise. He then nabbed even more high-profile roles in films like Robin Hood and Rocketman.

The 32-year-old Welsh actor stars opposite the late Ray Liotta, Paul Walter Hauser, Sepideh Moafi and Greg Kinnear in the drama.

Black Bird is a limited series and was inspired by true events. It follows Taron Egerton’s character Jimmy Keene, a former football star and police officer’s son, who is arrested and sentenced to ten years in a maximum security prison.

Jimmy is offered a choice; he can serve his sentence with no chance of parole, or he can go undercover and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall and elicit a confession from him before he’s released on an appeal.

The premise alone is enough to draw viewers in, but the cast has delivered a thrilling crime drama which has got them “hooked.”

“Watching the #BlackBird premier on @AppleTV so good so far! Larry’s voice is soo creepy. I’m only on the first episode. One more til I have to wait til next Friday. But I can say as of now, I’m hooked,” one viewer said.
