THE Hotel Inspector viewers were left appalled by a "deeply offensive" owner and branded him "beyond help".
The latest episode of the Channel 5 series saw Alex Polizzi visit the Pack O'Cards in Combe Martin on the North Devon Coast.
The hotel, pub and restaurant is run by couple Chris and Debbie and they were keen to boost their numbers, reconnect with the locals and improve their profits.
One of Alex's main suggestions was sprucing up the restaurant interior and giving a nod to the property's name.
However, Chris was against the idea of any card or card game references as he felt it "promotes gambling".
Alex and her interior designer had to scrap their black-and-white plans and managed to get Chris to agree to a coral colour which toned with the restaurant's furniture.

But part way through the decorating process, Chris stopped the painters and switched to a more neutral colour scheme.
Alex was clearly frustrated, and during a call said she had asked him to "trust" her, and in the end, she managed to give a nod to the hotel name with some subtle pictures hung on the wall featuring each of the four suits from a deck of cards.
However, Chris still wasn't impressed with that, but thankfully, they were able to move on and make great strides to improving their profits by appealing to the locals and the UK's walking community who regularly visit the area.
Unfortunately for Chris, his attitude during the show did not go down well with viewers at home.

"Why call for help and then disregard the advice!"
Meanwhile a fourth wrote: "The man is a right miserable old s**. He’s just not remotely suited to being a hotelier. He’s also very patronising towards Alex.
