Love Island stars with secret celebrity connections – from Luca Bish’s soap star fan to former winner’s musician ex
LOVE Island's new bombshell is causing waves - and it’s more than just her stunning looks that have surprised fans.
Drama seems to be on the cards after coupled-up Jay Younger was seen yelling “Woah!” when he spotted blonde bombshell Antigoni Buxton, 26, for the first time.
The financial advisor, 28, isn't the only one to be surprised by the show's new blonde beauty – a singer, from North London .
Fans were gobsmacked to discover Antigoni has a famous mum – the celebrity chef Tonia Buxton who has appeared on Sunday Brunch.
And she’s far from the only Love Islander with a celebrity connection - from sports star siblings to fellow reality stars, we reveal the lot.

Make-up artist Belle cosied up to Anton Danyluk in the villa back in 2019.

And he was keen not to get on the wrong side of her dad and "best friend", actor Tamer Hassan, 54.
He’s played hardmen in The Football Factory, Layer Cake and Batman Begins, as well as having a 2016 cameo in Game Of Thrones.
Luca Bish’s East End connection
In a surprising twist that only reality TV could present, a fishmonger has become the unlikely heartthrob in this year’s Love Island.
The sister of Luca Bish, 23, told The Sun that she’s exhausted after having to sift through endless applications from fans asking to be his girlfriend.
The Brighton-born lad previously dated Strictly star Saffron Barker, and counts former EastEnder Patsy Palmer a family friend.
In an Instagram story, the soap star backed Luca, posting: “YOU WILL SMASH IT, SO BEAUTIFUL, KIND & FUNNY. Yay from your MALIBU CREW.”
Gemma Owen’s footy father
Since entering the villa the 19-year-old has revealed she wants four kids and left viewers cringing when she coupled up with older guy Davide.
Many have joked Gemma's famous dad – former England striker Michael Owen – is covering his eyes at home too.
The ex-footballer, 42, said having a child go on Love Island was “probably a father’s worst nightmare”.
Liam Llewellyn’s sporty dad
Much like Gemma, student Liam has a famous celebrity dad who's loved by sports fans.
The 22-year-old is the son of David Llewellyn, a former star of the Welsh international rugby team.
The ex-sportsman, now 51, played for his country during the 1999 World Cup as well as the clubs Ebbw Vale, Newport and Neath.
Mike Boateng’s businessman brother
Former police officer Mike, 26, found love with Priscilla Anyabu in Love Island two years ago before their romance fizzled out.
And it appears reality TV fame runs in the family because his brother Samuel Brooksworth appeared on The Apprentice in 2016.
The 33-year-old was the top salesperson in that series and went on to found Remoteli, which pairs up young African entrepreneurs with big businesses.
Paige Turley’s Before You Go beau
Love Island winner Paige surprised her famous former fella Lewis Capaldi because he was unaware she was going on the reality show.
They dated for two years until 2016 while teenagers at college and during her time on Love Island, she claimed some of his songs were about her.
Lewis later clarified that Hold Me While You Wait, which speaks of a brutal break-up, was the only track about her.
The exes remain pals and even when Lewis was told she was on Love Island, he told the radio show The Edge: “Fair play, good luck to her.”
Curtis Pritchard sibling’s fancy footwork
Unfortunately for pro dancer Curtis, 26, his romance with Maura Higgins lasted less than a year after they left the villa.
Prior to going on Love Island, he was already a big name in Ireland after appearing on Dancing With The Stars as a professional.
He has an equally talented older brother – AJ Pritchard – who was on Strictly Come Dancing for three years and went on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2020.
After Curtis' appearance on Love Island, he joined forces with his sibling to be guest choreographers on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Jay Younger’s big saver relative
When he's not causing trouble in Casa Amor, tanned heartthrob Jay works as an investment analyst - a profession yards apart from his granddad's.
The 28-year-old is the grandson of ex-Scotland, Liverpool and Hibernian FC goalkeeper Tommy Younger.
That’s not his only celebrity connection; Jay’s dad used to babysit Calum Best - the son of legendary footballer George Best - who won Celebrity Love Island in 2006.
Tommy Fury’s knockout sibling
Hunky Tommy, 23, was one of few Love Islanders to find lasting love that carried on after the villa.
But the boxer-turned-TV star, who is dating Molly-Mae Hague, has a world-famous sibling.
His brother is Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury, who teased coming out of retirement after quitting the sport when he beat Dillian Whyte.
Dani Dyer - say no more
Former islander Dani managed to remain in the spotlight after appearing on the show largely thanks to her famous film star dad Danny Dyer.
The former dental nurse’s first foray into reality TV was on the show Survival Of The Fittest in 2018 before she won Love Island that same year with Jack Fincham.
Since then Dani and Danny have co-starred in EastEnders as well as on their podcast Sorted With The Dyers, where they try to solve relationship problems.
In one episode, the 25-year-old claimed it was awkward when she told her dad she was going on Love Island.

“He didn’t like me. We didn’t really talk. It was very awkward. Oh my God, I’d walk into the room and it would be so awkward,” she said.
Danny replied: “No, we didn’t talk… I think I was upset because we were very close and you’d spoken about it to everyone. I was the last f****r.”
