Love Island rich list revealed – from Jacques’ rugby fortune to Ekin-Su’s soap fees and Gemma Owen’s horse income
LOVE Island is renowned for turning ordinary people into millionaires - but almost all of them start off with regular jobs.
Some of the class of 2022 do already live the jet-set life (hello, Gemma Owen's horses) but many work very normal roles indeed (good day to Luca Bish's dead fish).
Here we take a look at the sort of money this year's stars are likely to be making - as calculated by - before they stepped into the villa.
Jacques O’Neill
Top of the tree with an estimated income of between £90,000 and £140,000 is rugby ace Jacques.
While he didn't get the warmest of receptions in the villa from ex Gemma, he is cheered on by thousands of Castleford Tigers fans in the Betfred Super League.
He was released from his contract to be a contestant on Love Island - and the club have first refusal if and when he wants to come back.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu
Ekin-Su - or "Ekin F***ing Su" to use the name Luca decided to bless her with when she came in - is another big earner.
She is estimated to make £16,000 an episode as a soap star on Turkish TV, having boasted about playing characters including a glamorous murderer.
The actress also had an impressive 340,000 followers before joining Love Island - which can earn her a grand per sponsored post.
Gemma Owen
We know her dad has a few quid but professional sportswoman Gemma is likely to be doing pretty well herself.
She is thought to make £12,000 per win as an international dressage rider - a job she's done since she was 11.
Her swimming-stuff company OG Beachwear doesn't appear to have turned a profit.
However, having the proprietor appearing in swimwear on primetime TV for the entire summer isn't likely to hurt sales.
Andrew Le Page
No we haven't accidentally included one of Lord Sugar's latest Apprentice candidates - that is actually Andrew.
When he's not the villa's premier grafter, he's charming people into buying homes in Dubai.
His basic pay is estimated at around £50,000 a year, but he's likely to get a big whack of commission on top of that with every sale.
Dami Hope
Scientist Dami is estimated to earn around £31,500 a year for his work as a senior microbiologist.
When he's not studying nature's smallest objects, the Dublin-based villa favourite insists he's a "verified playboy".
But if, as many believe, he's heading to the final stages of this year's Love Island with Amber, he could be in a line for a vastly bigger payday.
Paige Thorne
Lifesaver Paige has worked for the NHS for two years and pulls in around £30,600 as a paramedic.
The 24-year-old, who joined the service just before the Covid pandemic struck, has promised to return to the job.
She said: "I will 1,000 percent go back to being a paramedic. I love my job it gives me everything I could want from a job.
"I'm too much of a peoples' person to not go back to something like that."
Davide Sanclimenti
The number crunchers put Davide's estimated salary at £29,000 - but he's likely to make vastly more with or without Love Island.
The businessman runs a shisha business providing "only the finest" electronic hookah products to restaurants and nightclubs.
Davide, as you may have gathered, is Italian but the company, S Deluxe Shisha, is run from his Manchester base.
Amber Beckford
London nanny Amber has an estimated salary of £28,600 thanks to her job caring for children.
However, she made very clear when she went into the villa that she wouldn't be mothering any of the lads - and she certainly hasn't.
Amber insisted: "Because my job is looking after children, I don’t want to be looking after a child in the evenings and at the weekends too.”
Ikenna Ekwonna
Pharmaceutical salesman Ikenna is estimated to make around £25,000 as a graduate.
However, if he sticks with it he could be looking at doubling that figure.
That's if he decides go back to medical sales rather than - say - cashing in on his Love Island appearance with a string of mega-money brand deals.
Indiyah Polack
Waitress Indiyah is estimated to make £22,435 a year serving tables in a hotel.
She can also tap into even more with her large social media following, with more than 120,000 on Instagram alone.
The star has often posted sponsored content on social media alongside shots of her looking glam.
Most read in Love Island
Luca Bish
Luca, it will have escaped nobody thanks to the show's incessant seafood puns, sells fish.
That nets (yes, like that one) the Brighton lad an estimated £23,400 a year.
The Sun revealed last week that Luca's company Fish to your Door Ltd has £183 in the bank.
Tasha Ghourie
The estimators had a hard job pinning down Tasha's earnings because of the ad hoc nature of being a model and dancer.

However, it's fair to say she's not going to be doing badly.
Love Island first deaf contestant has modelled for Pull & Bear, Missguided, Pretty Little Thing and Boux Avenue.
