THE Handmaid's Tale fans are all saying the same thing after Elisabeth Moss posted the first look at the long-awaited season 5.

Elisabeth has played lead character June Osborne in the hit Hulu series since it began in 2017.

During that time, her character has been to hell and back and somehow managed to escape the full wrath of Gilead.

However, season four ended with her helping murder Commander Joseph Waterford, and fans have been desperate to know what will happen next.

Now Elisabeth, 39, has shared two pictures from season five to whet their appetites.

One sees June in a cream coat and top with her eyes titled up towards the camera, a determined and angry look on her face.

While fans are excited to see June and Co return for a fifth installment, one person who won't be back is Alexis Bledel.

Last month the actress revealed she had quit her role as Emily, but didn't offer a reason.

She said in a statement to Variety: “After much thought, I felt I had to step away from The Handmaid’s Tale at this time.

“I am forever grateful to [showrunner] Bruce Miller for writing such truthful and resonant scenes for Emily, and to Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew for their support.”

The Handmaid's Tale season five begins on Hulu on September 14 in the US with a UK air date yet to be confirmed.
