Love Island slammed by Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid over Gemma Owen
SUSANNA Reid has slammed Love Island for appearing to be giving significantly more screen time to Gemma Owen.
During Monday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, Susanna pulled no punches when speaking about the critically-acclaimed reality TV series.
Calling for other Islanders to get more air time, the presenter asked: "Is it Love Island or Gemma Owen Island?"
Referring to the ton of coverage surrounding the 19-year-old, she added: "Poor Gemma, she's at the heart of every single story so far."
Gemma, whose the daughter of former England footballer Michael Owen, is currently coupled up with Luca Bish.
The public initially coupled Gemma up with Liam Llewellyn, who recently exited the series.

In a recent episode, Owen had to deal with a curveball when her ex-boyfriend, Jacques O'Neill, showed up at the villa.
"I'm not bothered about anyone getting to know him, it's just the initial shock," she told Luca.
The two exes, who called it quits eighteen months ago, had a heart-to-heart in which Jacques admitted to still caring for her, while Gemma insisted she likes Luca.
Asked by her fellow Islanders about her thoughts on Jacques now being on the show, Gemma had mixed feelings.
One person who doesn't have mixed feelings, however, is Piers Morgan, who recently wrote about Love Island in a column for The Sun.
Last Wednesday, the former colleague of Susanna found himself tuned in to the ITV2 favourite - but was soon left regretting that move.
"I accidentally stumbled across television’s most moronic show," revealed Piers, speaking of the effects the show left on him.

He added: "And found myself so transfixed by the horrifying imbecility on my screen that I was unable to switch away from it for 13 minutes.
"They were the longest 780 seconds of my life and, I fear, by far the most destructive."
Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch-up on ITV Hub.
