Gemma Owen and Luca Bish’s Love Island romance is on the rocks as she admits to still fancying ex Jacques O’Neill

GEMMA Owen and Luca Bish's romance could be over before it's really begun following the arrival of her ex Jacques O'Neill.

The professional rugby player, 23, will make his debut on tonight's show, and it's clear Gemma, 19, still has a soft spot for him.

Despite Jacques hinting on his dates with Afia and Paige that things between them ended badly, Gemma admits she still has the hots for him.

She tells the other girls: "I don’t know. It’s weird because I still look at him and I do fancy him like 100%, I look at him and I think you are fit, no question, you are fit.”

Paige adds: “Yeah, I think we all look at him and think he’s fit, yeah.”

Earlier, Gemma had taken a while to clock his arrival, saying: “I’m not being funny but from the back it looks like my ex.”

She then gasped: “Oh my God, no, that’s my ex-boyfriend.”

Ex-Castleford ace Jacques quickly went on dates with villa single girls Afia Tonkmor and Paige Thorne. 

Gemma told them how she and Jacques dated for eight months but broke up “a year and a half ago”.

New girl Afia was keen to learn more about their romance and asked Jacques: “Did it end amicably?”

He replies: “I wouldn’t say so, maybe not, I am not sure but we will have to find out won’t we?”

Speaking ahead of his arrival, Jacques said of their relationship: "I split up with my ex and then I was seeing someone else. I was concentrating so much on my rugby and then I had that injury. I think it needs to be the right person, at the right time."

Worryingly for Luca, the hunk said he's not fussed in the slightest about stepping on toes and admits to falling in love easily.

Jacques’ arrival also shocked Luca, who told him: “It’s just awkward, your ex is in here.”

The bombshell came after Gemma’s ex-partner in the villa, Davide Sanclimenti, coupled up with Ekin-Su Culculoglu in Friday’s episode.

Last night they shared a first kiss.

Later in the Beach Hut, she said: “I feel so happy, I just gave him another kiss, and another kiss led to a peck, and another one, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, we need to stop’.”
