Love Island fans all have the same complaint as Unseen Bits debuts with ‘cringe’ twist

LOVE Island fans are all saying the same thing after the debut recap show of the series featured a new twist.

The one hour Unseen Bits show gave viewers a condensed version of the highlights from the first week and some never seen before footage of the popular ITV2 reality series.

Saturday's show opened with the famous coupling up of the stunning singletons.

It showed the contestants finding out who they were paired after the public played Cupid and picked the first couples.

Love Island voice over guy, Iain Stirling, gave his usual hilarious observations but announced there would also be some "honest subtitles".

"Which gives you lucky devils some unseens, exclusive peeks at what was really going on in the Islanders minds when they were coupling up," he explained.

Fans were left scratching their heads as they watched colourful boxes pop up on the screen with text, supposedly of what the contestant's were thinking.

One subtitle read "what's that smell?" as fishmonger Liam gave Paige a hug, alluding to his smelly profession.

It continued with "haddock?" and "turbot?" and when host Laura Whitmore asked Paige what she thought of Luca it read, "he seems like a slippery fish to me.";

But viewers were not impressed with the new addition to the show.

They slammed Unseen Bits as not only "boring" but just recapping the week's events without showing many never before seen footage.

"Was this week that boring that they're having to generate fake subtitles?" complained one fan on Twitter.

Another added: "These honest captions are from Twitter I swear."

The first week of Love Island ended with some emotional drama as the Islanders were left shocked when Liam called them to the firepit to make the sad announcement that he would be quitting the villa for good.

He told them: "So, obviously we all came here for the same sort of reason, but I haven't been giving 100 per cent Liam.

"I know what that looks like and I'm miles off that.

"Trying to find someone to leave the villa with is the goal, but when you're not feeling that, it makes it a hard time to find that.

"I've thought about this a lot, it's not a spur of the moment type thing.

"I've made the decision to leave the villa. It's been a breeze, it's been an absolute ball. You are all unreal."

His very own Love Island bombshell left his housemates reeling - with Luca and Amber bursting into tears.

Meanwhile, after Liam shared the news, Gemma - who was originally coupled up with Liam before switching to Davide Sanclimenti - pulled him for a chat.

But some viewers at home then insisted that by doing that Gemma was making the moment all about her.

Speaking to The Sun before entering the villa, Liam revealed the embarrassment of rejection would leave him "vulnerable."
