DNA Family Secrets viewers were resorted to tears after a woman went searching for her biological father - but there was a heartbreaking twist in store.
On Wednesday evening's instalment of the BBC show, Stacey Dooley helped another batch of people find answers to life-changing questions through the power of a DNA test.
She was assisted by the geneticist Prof Turi King, social workers and doctors, with DNA technology used to find missing or unknown relatives.
During the programme, Stacey met Georgina who had never met her father before.
She was conceived 34 years ago when her mother, Maura, had a holiday romance with a Portuguese waiter.
With only a few photos of their whirlwind holiday romance to go by, Stacey and the team had their work cut out.
But after some extensive research, Stacey confirmed that they had found him - and emotions soon ran high.
"We found the man that we believe to be your father, he's alive, he's well," Stacey began, as Georgina uncontrollably burst into tears.
"So we were able to converse with him, we showed him your mother's photos."
Confirming it was him in the photos and that he worked on the same resort he met her mother at, Stacey delivered some heartbreaking news.
She continued: "And then when we said to him, Georgina, why we were in contact, you know, 'We think that you've got a child in the UK.'
"He then told us that it wasn't him and he said, 'I think you've got the wrong person.'"
Those watching at home were left "bawling their eyes out" while watching the harrowing scenes, with many taking to Twitter to air their thoughts.
Alongside an array of sad-faced emojis, one person penned: "Georgina deserves so much more, her biological father needs to man up."
Echoing their comments, someone else said: "I think for a man not wanting to meet a child they could have fathered is the worst form of cruelty."
While a third remarked: "Absolutely bawling my eyes out while watching DNA Family Secrets. So sad."
DNA Family Secrets is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
