Among Phil's first round haul was the "x2" counter, meaning his £1,100 win was doubled to £2,200.

In response to the electrician describing the drop as "amazing", Ben affirmed: "That's one word for it, yes.

"The previous Tipping Point record in round one with the double was 21 counters. You've just beaten that record with 22 counters across the Tipping Point.

"It is a huge drop. In over 1000 episodes, that's the biggest one we've ever seen in this round."

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Phil, you absolute jammy so and so. Great play."

While a third quipped: "Can we get a taxi for three passengers as soon as possible, please?"

Phil ended up beating fellow contestants Dishi, Nick and Beth to make it to the final.

He failed to win the £10,000 jackpot, however, he was more than happy to take home the £3,550 that he had banked in the previous rounds.
