I got a warning from social services – I’m not perfect but my kids need freedom, says Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen
OUR Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has revealed how she received a warning from social services over her nine children.
Amanda, 47, has a large brood with husband Clive, and the family's life on their farm at Ravenseat plays out on the hit Channel 5 show.
Amanda also regularly shares snaps of her children helping around the farm and exploring the land on her social media, but it seems she has come under fire from social services for her parenting style.
Speaking at Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, she said: "I don't see myself as a perfect parent.
"I got a yellow flag from social services... I believe there is a happy medium whereby you do let the kids climb trees.
"Yes, they haven't got harnesses on or hard hats, but I believe there are some lessons to be learned that don't necessarily result in instant death but actually learn your own parameters."

While Amanda didn't reveal exactly what she had received a warning for, Our Yorkshire Farm came under fire in 2018 after showing scenes that appeared to breach health and safety.
Amanda has children aged between 21 and five, and the scenes saw some of the younger kids driving quad bikes without helmets and riding in tractor cabs and on trailers without guardrails.
The antics caught the attention of the workers' union Unite, which raised concerns at the time but amounted to nothing.
Amanda spoke at the festival to promote her new book, Celebrating the Seasons.

However, she admitted she no longer reads out of fear of accidentally plagiarising someone else's work.
She explained: "That's the worst thing, I don't read anymore. And why don't I read?
"Because subconsciously I'm nervous that I'm going to pick up something off somebody else and see it as my own thought.
"I know that sounds so strange. But that is the downside."
Our Yorkshire Farm airs on Channel 5 and is available on My5.
