Alison Hammond bids for Big Brother hosting gig on revived series after first finding fame as contestant
FORMER Big Brother star Alison Hammond has bid to host the next series of the Channel 4 show if it does return to telly.
The TV star admitted she would jump at the chance to host a series of the popular reality show - which came to an end in 2018.
Alison, 47, who is a regular feature on ITV show This Morning, rose to fame on Big Brother back in 2002, alongside Jade Goody.
Rumours have been swirling that the long-running show - which aired for 18 years from 2000 - has a planned comeback in 2023.
Speculation has grown that ITV has bought the rights to revive the former Channel 4 programme next year.
Now, Alison - who survived just over two weeks on the programme - has been pipped as the potential host should it return.

The star told The Late-ish Show with Mo Gilligan that she would love to take up the hosting role should they decide to bring it back.
Asked if she thought she would be good at presenting the show, she replied: "I think so. They need to change it up a bit.
“We’ve got to put it out there to the universe. Let’s make it happen!”
Meanwhile, Emma Willis - who hosted Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother on Channel 5 - chimed in on the debate on the show's return.
Appearing on This Morning last week, she said: "I miss it so much but I do think it needs longer [off air]. It needs a bit more of a rest, I think.
“I think if you go back to day dot when it first started and how it just took all of us by storm, it was just phenomenal.
"If it can do that again, and if it went back to that, I mean, it would be amazing, wouldn't it? Everybody wants it back!
"Hopefully, there's somebody beavering away somewhere that is coming up with a plan, but I don't know about it if they are!"
It comes after Alison continued to impress fans today as she posed for another glamorous picture earlier this week.
The telly favourite posed in the show's specially decorated kitchen on a Platinum Jubilee edition of the ITV daytime hit.
Alison shared a picture of her posing that had also been posted by her "glam man" Mikey Phillips.
