Homes Under The Hammer star rages at easyJet – saying his two-year-old had to sit alone

BBC stalwart Dion Dublin has raged at airline company Easyjet saying it seated his two-year-old away from him and his wife on a flight.

The Home Under The Hammers presenter claimed his toddler was seated at the front of the plane away from her parents even though they pre-paid to book their seats.

Dion did not say where he was flying to with his wife Cheryl and daughter, Ruby.

He took to Twitter to vent his anger and tagged the airline.

"Would someone @easyJet please get back to me ASAP, to explain WHY you’ve changed all of our seats so we’re all separate," he wrote.

"Prepaid for seats.. traveling with a 2 year old and all now sitting apart. 2 year olds in 3a and wife and I are now randomly separated down the back. NOT Happy!"

Easyjet sent a couple of replies to the tweet which was quickly inundated with fans who were shocked at what happened.

The airline told The Sun: "EasyJet understands how important it is that families are allocated appropriate seating together.

"We apologise for an error that occurred with Mr. Dublin’s booking and his family.

“Our customer service team have been in touch with Mr Dublin directly and resolved the issue.”

The airline industry has been in chaos as thousands of travellers face huge delays or cancellations due to flights being scrapped.

Today, travellers were advised to bring just one bag to board flights in order to beat the rush at chaotic airports.

Industry leaders told holidaymakers to consider travelling light rather than bringing checked in luggage in an attempt to reduce delays.

Thousands of holidays have already been ruined by delayed and cancelled flights, as well as huge queues at airports across the UK.

British holidaygoers have been left devastated with EasyJet and Tui some of the airlines which have authorised mass cancellations.

And travel chaos does not look to be stopping soon, compounded by half-term and the Jubilee weekend coming at the same time.

Cirium, the aviation data firm, said that 377 flights from UK airports were cancelled in the seven days up to and including Tuesday.

Gatwick had 151 cancellations, Manchester 41, Heathrow 36, Bristol 27 and Edinburgh 19.

The advice came as airlines were yesterday accused by ministers of wasting police time after armed officers were deployed to escort passengers from an aircraft “abandoned” by a leading airline amid chronic staff shortages.

Airports are struggling with staff shortages after letting thousands of employees go during Covid.

Dion has enjoyed a long and varied career which has seen him take on a number of different ventures most ex-Norwich City strikers don't experience.

Since hanging up his boots, the former footballer has invented his own instrument as well as as becoming one of the most familiar faces on daytime television, but little is known about his personal life.

Dion's private life alongside wife Cheryl has remained low-profile, with even the length of their marriage together unknown.

Along with Ruby, the family of three also live with their two dogs Frank and Maggie

Dion is currently part of the presenting team on Homes Under The Hammer alongside Martel Maxwell and Martin Roberts.

He has starred on the show since 2015, though has previously admitted he received criticism from some quarters due to his background as a footballer before transitioning into daytime television.
