JEOPARDY! alum Buzzy Cohen has revealed that he was suffering from a major injury during the latest episode of The Chase.
The 37-year-old has recently begun filling in for Ken Jennings, who left the show after season 2.
Joining as a new Chaser on the quiz game show, Buzzy decided to share a little behind-the-scenes tidbit with fans on social media.
Viewers were excited about having the former Jeopardy! host on The Chase and happy to see how well he was doing in answering all of the trivia.
Buzzy revealed, though, that he was actually dealing with a lot while filming the show.
He tweeted on Tuesday: “Fun fact: I taped tonight’s episode of @thechaseabc with a broken rib.”

“When the team put up 19 steps I couldn’t even take a deep breath,” he said.
That meant he had just two minutes to catch up to the contestants in the Final Chase, and they were at a steep advantage at “19 steps.”
Fans were shocked to learn about his injury, as they didn’t even notice it while watching, and he was still competitive.
One viewer tweeted at him: “That was a smashing final round, Buzzy!

“And with a handicap we didn't know about until now. Hope you're feeling lots better.”
Another surprised user wrote: “Amazingly impressive!
“Was so looking forward to seeing you after Jeopardy.
“Wish you did the fun shoulder brush (your old trademark). Hope you feel better soon!”
A third said: “Sorry to hear about the rib (!) but you were awesome - especially impressive when you switched over to beast-mode in that last minute.”
Others let Buzzy know that he “did great regardless” and didn’t let on that he was injured as he “looked so cheerful.”
“Talk about mind over matter,” one fan added.
Like others involved with The Chase, Buzzy's a former Jeopardy! champ.
He appeared in nine games in April and May 2016 and was known as "Mr. Personality" by the late, great Alex Trebek.
At the end of his run, he took home $164,603.
Buzzy came back to Jeopardy! for the 2017 Tournament of Champions, where he won the grand prize of $250,000.
He then went on to appear in the Jeopardy! All-Star Games relay tournament in 2019.
In 2021, Buzzy hosted the Tournament of Champions, leading fans to beg for Jeopardy! to make him a permanent host.
That gig is currently being fought for by Mayim Bialik and Ken.
