Love Island’s new contestants already have huge fanbases with thousands of followers on Instagram

LOVE Island has delivered one of the most diverse line-ups yet but they almost all have something in common - they're big hits on Instagram.

In fact, many of the new contestants could claim to be social media influencers before stepping foot in the Majorca villa as they’ve all clocked up more than 5,000 followers.

That's good news for the stars, who often have lucrative careers plugging products online once their time in the villa is over.

Michael Owen’s daughter, Gemma, 19, has already picked up thousands of new followers and her total now stands at 66.1k.

Second and third are model Tasha Ghouri, 29.2k, the first ever deaf contestant, and hotel waitress Indiyah Polack, 25.7k.

Meanwhile, hunky student Liam Llewellyn leads the boys with 12.3k.

The lowest ranked on the social media scale are estate agent Andrew Le Page with 6.9k and salesman Ikenna Ekwonna, drawing in 5.8K.

We recently revealed the new Love Island series will kick off on Monday June 6, alongside new images of the villa taking shape.

The matchmaking show compound itself is situated in the middle of lush greenery and at the foot of a large hill.

The old villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, which housed contestants for five years, sold for a whopping £3million.
