Who is Jamie Leahey?

Jamie Leahey is a 13-year-old self-taught ventriloquist.

He auditioned for series 15 of Britain's Got Talent, alongside his ventriloquism dummy named Chuck.

He started practising ventriloquism during the first lockdown after his grandmother bought him a monkey puppet.

Leahey's dream is to have his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

How did Jamie Leahey reach the Britain's Got Talent final?

Jamie was in the final three following a public vote on May 30, 2022.

However, after opera singer Maxwell Thorpe was crowned the semi-final winner, it was a choice between him and magician Junwoo.

Both acts managed to receive two judge's votes each which meant that it went back to the original public vote - and Jamie came out on top.

He will be one of 10 acts in the final on Sunday, June 5, 2022, on ITV.

Speaking about his performance, judge Amanda Holden said Jamie would fit the bill at the Royal Variety Show: “You brightened up the whole show - you are a very talented, young man.

“Ventriloquism is a very difficult genre. You have a very slick act - a very professional act - I completely believe in you and Chuck.

“And honestly this is the kind of thing I’d like to see on the Royal Variety Show.”

Who else is in the Britain's Got Talent final?

Jamie is joined by Sheffield busker Maxwell Thorpe in the BGT finals.

He won the hearts of the nation during the BGT auditions, and he didn’t disappoint on Monday’s (May 30) semi-finals.

All four judges gave him a standing ovation as soon as he closed the show, with David Williams stating that he should have been "given a golden buzzer".

The Britain's Got Talent semi-finals will continue to air each weeknight until Friday, June 3.

The performances will take place from 8pm to 10pm on ITV with the results revealed in the same show.
