The TV boss addressed a lot of pressing questions, spilled the beans on upcoming changes, and revealed which ideas he would be taking on board.

One demanding fan asked Mike whether or not he had "understood the assignment this year?"

They wrote: "Will you please STOP ending episodes at the fire pit?

"Makes only the first 15 minutes of every episode the most dramatic. Ending on a cliffhanger is not it."

Mike replied to this part of the question: "So in terms of ending the episodes at the fire pit I have to say I think sometimes it’s brilliantly entertaining to end on a cliffhanger.

"I think if we ended the episode with everything revealed you would be left dissatisfied when you tuned in the next night?"

The fan then asked another question: "Have you understood the assignment this year?

"We want content like the Australian LI from the year of Grant and Tayla. DRAMA !"

Mike responded: "I love the Australian version of the show.

"I look forward to seeing what this year's Islanders bring to the villa and I hear your assignment…leave it with me!"

He continued: "I like your ideas and it’s definitely an area which I have read lots about but I am focusing on Love Island 8 for now!"

The TV exec was also asked by a different fan: "Please can you stop making people spit food into each others mouths"

To which he replied: "We are stepping away from the food challenges as we know them."

Another interesting point that raised was: "Why do we never see the islanders receiving a prize for winning challenges?

"This seemed to stop randomly after S3, is there a reason for this?"

The question was also asked by a number of other fans, and Mike was grateful it had been brought up.

He said: "I like your way of thinking and I do agree with you.

"I will speak to the team and see what I can do."

He added: "It is something we used to do like you say and there is no massive reason as to why they stopped but leave it with me!"
