Bake Off: The Professionals has returned for another series with teams of pastry chefs from restaurants, hotels, and small businesses all battling it out.

What are the challenges in Bake Off: The Professionals?

Season five of Bake Off: The Professionals sees the contestants competing across two challenges.

The team that comes bottom across both bakes is eliminated.

The remaining teams will progress to the next round.

Episode one

In the first episode, the bakers were set a secret challenge.

With no recipe, they had to make 36 individual strawberry fraisiers and a chocolate amenity in three hours – with no recipe to work from.

For their showpiece, they were tasked to transform an ordinary treacle tart into a fine dining experience

Episode two

For their first task, the bakers will be creating 24 savoury slices.

In the second challenge, the teams must make 160 choux buns to create a Greatest Sporting Moments-themed dessert.

They only have five hours to create the final masterpiece.

Who is the Bake Off: The Professionals judges and hosts?

The contestants all compete to impress the pickiest judges on TV and top patisserie experts – Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden.

Great British Bake Off favourite Liam Charles is presenting the show once again.

Meanwhile, Stacey Solomon is Liam’s new co-host, taking over from Tom Allen.

The Loose Women star rose to national fame by impressing back in the 2009 series of The X Factor.

Bake Off: The Professionals is on Tuesday nights at 8pm on Channel 4.

The new series kicked off on May 24, 2022 and is on for ten episodes.
