Keeper of the Ashes: When does the documentary premiere on Hulu?
TRAGEDY struck Oklahoma in 1977 after three Girl Scouts between the ages of 8 and 10 were raped and murdered.
At the time, the case captivated the nation and will now be retold in a Hulu documentary titled Keeper of the Ashes.

Keeper of the Ashes: When does the documentary premiere on Hulu?
Keeper of the Ashes will tell the story of Lori Lee Farmer, 8, Michele Heather Guse, 9, and Doris Denise Milner, 10, all of whom were killed after their first night at sleep-away camp in 1977.
The case left many glued to the TV set, but even decades later, there are still uncertainties surrounding the case that haunt the community.
Hulu will take a look at these uncertainties in the new documentary, which is set to premiere on May 24, 2022.

Who killed the Girl Scouts?
At the time of the murders, police suspected Gene Leroy Hart, who was on the run after escaping Mayes County Jail in 1973, according to , but a lack of evidence led to an acquittal in 1979.
However, he was still sentenced to 308 years in prison after he was convicted of kidnapping and raping two pregnant women.
Hart ultimately died in prison two years after the Girl Scouts murders after suffering a heart attack at the age of 35.

It was not until May 2022 that a break in the case arose, and police were able to eliminate several suspects.
DNA testing, although officially inconclusive, "strongly suggests" Hart’s involvement, officials said, via .
“Unless something new comes up, something brought to light we are not aware of, I am convinced where I’m sitting of Hart’s guilt and involvement in this case," Mayes County Sheriff Mike Reed said in a statement.
Tulsa World then goes on to note that Reed was aware of these results back in 2019, but did not go public with them until 2022 at the request of the victims’ families.
"Everything else that I’ve been able to see and look at and dissect points to him [Hart]," Reed added. “And that actually carries more weight for me.”

Who is Kristin Chenoweth?
Kristin Chenoweth, 53, is known today as an American actress and singer, but back in 1977, she was a Girl Scout in Oklahoma.
Before fame and fortune, she was among the girls in the troop and had to learn at an early age what murder was.
In the trailer for the documentary, Chenoweth recalls that time in her life and reveals that she was supposed to be among the girls at the sleep-away camp.
“This is a story I wish I never had to tell. It haunts me every day. But this story, it needs to be told," Chenoweth said in the trailer.
“...I remember I should have been on that trip, but I had gotten sick, and mom said, ‘You can’t go,'” she continued. “It stuck with me my whole life. I could have been one of them.”
