CORONATION Street fans called out a police blunder after Peter Barlow was arrested after a hospital scrap.
In last night's instalment of the ITV soap, the recovering alcoholic was horrified when he discovered the shocking truth about his life-saving operation.
At the start of the episode, Peter bought Dr Thorne (Dominic Mafham) a gift to thank him for carrying out his liver transplant a few months ago.
But nurse Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) broke the news that the surgeon had placed a sickening bet on his life - that he would finish his liver transplant in less than four hours.
The situation was made worse when a shocking selfie was found on Dr Thone's phone showing him posing with Peter's liver and captioning it "anyone for foie gras".
When Peter and his wife Carla (Alison King) found out what Dr Thorne did, Peter angrily demanded an apology.

He then declared he will be putting a stop to his abuse of power, convinced that the surgeon will get special treatment because of his privilege background.
Peter later approached Dr Thorne in a restaurant, only to be wound up by the doctor and a fellow colleague who said the bet was only a joke.
A furious Peter took things to another level and punched the surgeon.
Unfortunately for him, the police soon came to the surgeon's rescue and arrested Peter on suspicion of assault, and is charged while at the police station.

But viewers at home were scratching their heads over how quickly the coppers turned up at the scene.
One wrote: "How quick did the police arrive to arrest Peter? He'd only just punched that bloke and they were there in literally seconds!"
Another posted: "You can see that this is NOT REAL LIFE…..police turn up in seconds….and they can get to see a doctor! Amazing!"
A third added: "Blimey the police were there quick."
A fourth chimed in: "Bloody hell, Wetherfield Police were quick off the mark."
ITV viewers may recall how Peter struggled with his alcoholism before his big surgery, which obviously led to a lot of arguing in Coronation Street.
Peter eventually received a new liver in June, 2021, as his health was rapidly deteriorating due to his addiction.

Since then the character has been doing well and remained away from the bottle.
But could he be set for a relapse following Dr Thorne's behaviour?
