DOCTOR Who fans all said the same thing as Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa was confirmed to play the new Time Lord.
Ncuti, 29, is best known for playing Eric Effiong in the Netflix smash, but the actor's star is set to soar now he is the first black lead of the iconic BBC show.
Speculation has been rampant for months about who would follow Jodie Whittaker as the 14th Doctor.
And while the long-running series' hardcore fandom can be difficult the please, the news of his casting was meant with a huge thumbs up on social media.
One posted on twitter: "Ncuti Gatwa is the 14th doctor, oh my god. What a guy."
A second enthused: "Congratulations Ncuti Gatwa - you're brilliant in Sex Ed and I'm sure you'll make a great Doctor."

A third added: "Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor is such a compelling choice. Very much looking forward to seeing what he does with the role. This is very exciting!"
Another gushed: "I’m so FREAKING excited about this. First, Russel T Davies is back - show runner when I first fell in love with - and now THIS?!? So excited for Ncuti Gatwa to take over from the brilliant Jodie Whittaker. Allons-y!!!"
And a fifth weighed in: "This is historic! Welcome aboard the TARDIS Ncuti Gatwa!"
Ncuti was awarded Best Actor Award at the Scottish BAFTA’s in 2020 for his turn in Sex Education.

He will be the first black actor to take the continuing role of the doctor after actress Jo Martin appeared in the 13th series as an alternative version of the Time Lord in an episode with Whittaker.
The new series sees the return of showrunner Russell T. Davies.
Speaking of his new role, Ncuti said: "There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling.
"A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared. This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care.
"I will endeavour my upmost to do the same."
He continued: "Russell T Davies is almost as iconic as the Doctor himself and being able to work with him is a dream come true. His writing is dynamic, exciting, incredibly intelligent and fizzing with danger.
"An actor’s metaphorical playground.
"The entire team have been so welcoming and truly give their hearts to the show.
"And so as much as it’s daunting, I’m aware I’m joining a really supportive family. Unlike the Doctor, I may only have one heart but I am giving it all to this show."
Ncuti also shared the news with his 2.6million Instagram followers on Sunday.
He posted a photo of two red hearts above a plus sign and a blue square, with show runner Davies writing beneath the snap: "The future is here"
Ncuti was born in Rwanda and raised in Scotland, and started acting in 2014.
In 2016 he played Demetrius in the production of A Midsummer's Nights Dream at Shakespeare's Globe, before being cast in Netflix's Sex Education in 2018.
Davies said of finding Ncuti: "The future is here and it’s Ncuti!
"Sometimes talent walks through the door and it’s so bright and bold and brilliant, I just stand back in awe and thank my lucky stars.
"Ncuti dazzled us, seized hold of the Doctor and owned those TARDIS keys in seconds.
