Celebrity Mastermind viewers gobsmacked as Michelle Gayle reveals her age

CELEBRITY Mastermind viewers were left shocked this evening as Michelle Gayle revealed she was 51.

The star looked incredible as she answered questions on her specialist subject - Early Years of Def Jam Recordings, but fans were distracted by her youthful looks.

Taking to Twitter to discuss her appearance one person wrote: “Holy s**t! Michelle Gayle is 51 years old. SHE LOOKS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!”

A second added: “There MUST be some CGI going on with Michelle … surely !!!! She looks 20 !!!  #celebritymastermind.”

While a third tweeted: “Michelle Gayle does not age!  #celebritymastermind.”

Speaking about her secret to looking young, Michelle previously told The Sun: “It’s just luck. My mum and dad look young and I only moisturise my face. I’ve never had Botox.

“My friends do it, but I like the idea of growing old gracefully.”

Michelle went up against Olympic gold medallist Charlotte Worthington, who was quizzed on Michael Jordan, James Acaster who picked this history of ice cream as his specialist subject, and Jean Johansson, who chose Kylie Minogue.

James appeared to know very little about ice cream and the clear winner in both rounds was Jean thanks to her impressive knowledge on Kylie.

Michelle is well known as both a singer and an actress, having appeared as Hattie Tavernier in EastEnders from 1990-1993.

Her biggest hit was the song "Sweetness" which reached number four in September 1994.

She also had success with "Do You Know" which got to number six in the charts three years later.

Most recently she played Hermione in the Harry Potter stage show.

Speaking about her plans for the future, Michelle previously teased: “Music is definitely off the cards. I’m just not up for touring. I had the best time doing it in the ‘90s so I don’t need to chase that.

“If I was offered a good storyline in EastEnders then it would be tempting, but we’ll have to see…”
