Kenneth Welsh dead at 80: Twin Peaks and The Day After Tomorrow actor passes away
KENNETH Welsh, best known for his work on Twin Peaks and The Day After tomorrow, has been announced dead at the age of 80.
ACTRA, the Canadian film and television union, confirmed his passing.
ACTRA : "Ken was one of Canada’s all-time great performers, with hundreds of memorable roles spanning decades.
"He will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his loved ones.”
The following tweet stated: "We were very fortunate to speak with Ken briefly at last year’s TIFF, where he spoke kindly about being a member of our union."
The cause of death is not yet known.

Kenneth appeared in TV shows such as The X-Files, Law & Order, The Outer Limits, The Practice, and Star Trek: Discovery.
He also landed roles in films, including Timecop, Legends of the Fall, and Focus.
The star is survived by his son, singer/songwriter Devon Welsh.
According to , the actor still has films and TV appearances that have not been released.

Kenneth will be seen as a guest star on The Kids in the Hall, which will stream on Amazon Prime on May 13th.
REMEMBERING KENNETH
Fellow actors and fans sent their condolences over on social media following news of Kenneth's passing.
She's Out of My League Jay Baruchel described the late star as a: "sincerely lovely human with whom I was lucky enough to have spent time. Rest in peace."
Under the Influence host Terry O'Reilly wrote: "This is heartbreaking news. Loved working with Ken.
"Possibly the most underrated Canadian actor. A gent."
Another Twitter user stated: "One of my first roles was a small part in a film starring Ken Welsh.
"A great talent and true gentleman. May his memory be a blessing."
'ALWAYS CALL THEM'
Kenneth previously described being an ACTRA Toronto member to .
During The Toronto International Film Festival back in September 2021, he said: "I have a great deal of respect for my union.
"Honestly, they do take care of all residuals that are coming to you, they make sure you get them. And you can always call them."
He concluded: "Another great thing about ACTRA, you can call them with any problem you have."
TWIN PEAKS
His most memorable role came in David Lynch's mystery/drama, Twin Peaks.
Kenneth played the antagonist known as Windom Earle, a former FBI agent.
In the ABC show, Windom used to be Dale Cooper's- played by Kyle MacLachlan- mentor before he discovered his protege had an affair with his wife.

After murdering his wife, Windom then came to the Twin Peaks and discovered the supernatural secret behind the quirky and violent town.
Windom exacted revenge by kidnapping Dale's girlfriend Annie Blackburn (Heather Graham) and dragging them both to The Black Lodge during the ambiguous finale.
