  • Fans all have the same complaint

The final episode opened with an expected retrospect of the season, and then individual segments dedicated to the three finalists.

Eddie, 30, is a marine pilot who lives in Beverley, Yorkshire.

Speaking after his win he said: “Everything in my life has been building up to doing something in food. It would be amazing to be able to cook in a top restaurant and with the most famous royal Awadhi chefs in Lucknow.

“It would also be exciting to write about food or even do some more TV. What I’d really love is to own my own restaurant – sharing my food memories and nostalgia.

“I always knew one day I wanted to pursue a career in food and now MasterChef has made me realise that this can be a reality.”

  • What really happens when judges say ‘time’s up’?

Christina Tosi knows all about Masterchef US, as the professional chef and baker is one of the judges.

On the US show she revealed that there's down time for everyone between "time's up" and when they taste, "and we don’t taste all of the food at once, because you just can’t taste twenty dishes at the same time while they’re all still hot."

By the time the food is actually tested by the judges, it's only lukewarm or completely cold.

This is due to the shots being filmed and the chefs having a moment to rest whilst its being done.

Christina explained that the judges also float about the kitchen whilst the chefs are preparing their meals: "Keep in mind that we taste food at each cook’s station as they work, so we have a good idea of who’s looking good, and who is going down in a ball of flames."

  • MasterChef winner reveals Gregg's heartwarming gift to ill dad

MASTERCHEF: The Professionals winner Alex Webb opened up on the sweet gesture from judge Greg Wallace to his sick dad.

The young, ambitious chef rose through the ranks since starting out as a pot washer in his local restaurant to win Masterchef: The Professionals in 2020.

Over the course of the series, Alex grew close to all the cast and judges, but especially Gregg.

His highlight during the season was when the cameras came to visit his family, which had inspired him throughout the series.

“I’d just cooked a dish in memory of my grandad which put me through to the final. To get through on that dish meant a lot," Alex told

“When the cameras came to see my mum and dad it just pushed me to try and win."

But his parents Jennifer and Phillip supported him all the way.

Phillip tragically lost a battle with lung cancer earlier this year aged just 61.

“Gregg did a lovely message for my dad when he was in hospital. It was really nice and meant a lot," Alex revealed.

“[Masterchef] is like a big family really.”
