Despite stints on the American and Australian versions of MasterChef, the 55-year-old has never appeared on the UK version - until now.

Towards the end of the episode, viewers were teased with upcoming scenes which show the foul-mouthed cook making an appearance on the hit BBC cooking show.

Known for his exceptional British cuisine, Gordon is arguably the most famous chef in the world.

However, he is also known for his harsh and angry outbursts in the kitchen and regularly swears at chefs for their mistakes.

As a result of his temperament, his inclusion has left MasterChef fans divided, with many vowing not to watch.

Taking to Twitter, one person penned: "Disappointed that MasterChef have brought on board the abusive chef that is Gordon Ramsay to judge the amateur chefs."

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Not sure why Gordon Ramsay is on the MasterChef finals this week - it's meant to be a classy cooking programme."

While a third remarked: "Seems I won't be watching MasterChef tomorrow. I cannot stand Gordon Ramsay."

A select few, however, were keen on seeing Gordon, with one person writing: "Not gonna lie, I'm kinda hoping that Gordon Ramsay gives the MasterChef finalists a hard time."

In tonight's edition, the four remaining cooks Radha, Eddie, Pookie and Sarah must offer an interpretation of a classic dish to impress Gordon.

With one then eliminated, the final three must cook at Ramsay's London restaurant.

MasterChef continues on BBC One at 8pm on Wednesday, 4 May.
