Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas breaks down in tears as he opens up about moment he desperately tried to save dad’s life
ADAM Thomas has opened up about the moment he desperately tried to save his dad Dougie James' life.
Soul singer Dougie passed away in November 2020 aged 72 and actor Adam spoke about tragic event for the first time on , his podcast with brothers Scott and Ryan.

Revealing he was the first to get to his dad after Scott's cleaner alerted them that something was wrong, Adam, 33, said: "I remember getting out of the car and running upstairs in Scott's house, and just seeing him there laying on the sofa."
"I just thought 'I've got to try and help him so I'm taking him off the couch and I'm trying to resuscitate him, I don't know whether I'm doing it right or whether I'm doing it wrong.
"I remember just thinking 'wow, this is just not how I expected it to go'.
"I'm crying my eyes out going 'come on, dad'. I'm jumping up and down on my dad, trying to save him..."

As Waterloo Road star Adam could be heard breaking down in tears, Scott said: "You've got this, bro."
Adam replied: "It's just so hard, because you don't really talk about it that much and that's the one thing that I regret, that that's the last memory of my dad."
But Adam also recalled a darkly comic moment, adding: "I'm jumping up and down on my dad, trying to save his life, and his phone starts to ring, someone's calling him.
"And it's my dad singing Kung Foo Fighting, and I'm just like 'what is going on?' I'm thinking 'my dad's in the room right now just watching me trying to save his life, laughing is a*** off'."

In 2019 the boys headed to India with their dad for ITV documentary Mancs In Mumbai where they explored their heritage.
The boys confronted their once-estranged dad, with Adam later revealing the trip was "quite emotional" for all of them.
Dougie split from the boys' mum when the twins were born - leading to a bitter divorce.
Their parents weren't in the same room again together until Ryan's 21st birthday.
Adam spoke about how important the journey was to get closer to Dougie.
He said at the time: "Getting to take him along on this journey with us was very special. It's pretty much his show, he steals this show from start to finish.
"So he was finding out about his dad, but we were also finding out about our dad also."
